Make-ready & Cleaning

Our make-ready service streamlines NHS resources, saving money whilst also improving safety through clinical and operational efficiency. Through our carefully selected staff we are responsible and accountable for improved clinical standards across the fleet. With self-scrutiny underpinning our professional fleet management, we make ambulance preparation and vehicle movement performance levels available for you to see on a month by month basis.

Saving NHS resources
  • Our technicians save other qualified medical staff from having to carry out ambulance preparation and vehicle movement.
  • Spending on consumables is reduced through more careful control and monitoring of the restocking process.

Vehicle Movement
  • Punctual delivery of ambulances between make-ready centres and ambulance stations.

Improving Clinical Standards
  • CMS personnel clinically clean every ambulance to clear written specifications every night. As part of our infection control of ambulances procedure we for example use swab testing which is clinically tested externally.

Re-stocking of consumables, testing of equipment and removal of waste
  • Improved stock management through automated information systems for the accurate replacement of medical gases and re-ordering of stock: infection control, burns, maternity and dressing packs.
  • Checking and re-packing of the First Aid kits, Paramedic Bags, O2 Bags and the Entonox Bags.
  • Routine testing under manufacturers’ warranty of the defibrillator, suction unit, communications equipment and other specialist nominated equipment together with a comprehensive Vehicle Defect Inspection Report.
  • Removal of all clinical waste and replacement of waste sacks and sharp bins items.
  • Refueling of the ambulance fleet.
